REVOLUTION.

I really love the 40s and 60s adds because they show that joyful and beautiful woman that we can't see anymore. That woman is now replaced by the business woman: beautiful, powerful and self confident. And I'm not saying it's something bad. It's actually great that women fought for their rights and they transformed themselves from the 40's dolly to the 2000's wonder woman.

I haven't been writing for a while. Only reading. Reading. Blogs. Magazines. Books. Letters.
E-mails. And now I feel like I have to share all the things that I've learnt during summer. During this incredible summer. Weekend starts on Saturday. School starts on Monday.
This summer I DISCOVERED so many things. I experimented a lot.
So, things that I've done for the first time:
Watched Gossip Girl (I'm totally into it)
Missed people (like really missing)
Cried at songs
Watched a movie for 10 times (That's you, Little Manhattan)
Felt inspired by Audrey Hepburn
Watched the Madame by Jean Paul Gaultier ad and felt really inspired by it
Cut a Tommy Girl ad (motto: a declaration of independence)
Bought Jonas notebooks (I actually had to choose between Jonas, Hannah Montana and High School Muscial)
Watched Friends and laughed out loud
Read a Hello Kitty magazine (I'm gonna talk about that later.)
Bought a glossy magazines only beacuse it had Leighton Meester on its cover and felt really sorry for buying it later when I discovered that the interview was only like a page or something.
Had a broken heart.
Loved.
So it was a great summer. A great summer. Great things happened. I feel ready for autumn. I feel READY for school. Let a new age begin!

Converse, broken dreams and about my naivity

I have never ever ever felt able to write about what I feel about Converse. For me it is not just a shoe, it represents generations of different ambitious people that have a dream and a purpouse in life. I always thought that Converse is not a brand for all the people. That not everybody understands its meaning.
But of course I was wrong.
I dreamed about a pair of Black Hi Converse for about half a year. You know, those original Con's. And I finally got them. When I was wering them, I was feeling like nothing is impossible. At the same time I discovered Nirvana and I finally found my style and realized what I wanna do in life.
Yesterday I went (for the first time) at a Converse shop with some friends. One of them asked about what shoes do they have to fit her size and there were only two. Black Original Con's and some green ones. And she got the original Con's. And the sky felt down. For me.
My friend doesn't know the true mening of Converse. For her, they're just some shoes. Now I'm not the special one anymore. People don't know about my oppinion about Converse and about hers.
They only see that we both have the same shoes.

Watch and Listen

These are a few of my favourite songs. This is more like a watch and listen post. Silence.

believe.

believe.

in your dreams

in God
in aliens.
Just believe.
That's what you hear everywhere. OK. But believe in what? In anything.OK. And what is this supposed to be meaning?
Believe in God. There is no "WHY". Because He's there for you. Because we fell Him so close to our heart. Because He listens to our prays and He understands us. Because He knows us so well and He helps us.
Believe in your dreams. Because this is us. A soul with a body. A soul with dreams. Because without dreams we would be nobody. Because if we don't, then we aren't.
Believe in aliens. OK. A huge WHY. Why? You tell me.
And believe. in many more things. In miracles! In magic! In happines and in hAPPY ENDINGS! Why? Because this is life. Enjoying every single moment. Living not just surviving.
"We don't have a body. We have a soul." C.S. LEWIS, I think said that. Wise man.

Urban Culture

Coca Cola.
Converse.
Ray-Ban.
Starbucks.
Have you ever seen a girl wearing a pair of black Hi Converse, an I LOVE NY T-shirt, Levi's jeans with RayBan Wayfarer sunglasses and drinking a Coke or a Starbucks coffe? I haven't. If I would, I could write now a whole page only about it. Why? Because all this brands represent more than some logos and some very popular products. They represent urban culture. Mobile ART. THINK ABOUT HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE DRINKING A COKE RIGHT NOW. THINK ABOUT HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AT A STARBUCK'S. THINK ABOUT HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE WEARING A PAIR OF CONVERSE. thousands. That makes this products special. These brands are famous, but not in the Chanel and Versace kind of way. These brands can bge seen in every day life. aNYWHERE.EvERYwHERE. That makes them special. OK. I agree. Not everybody has Ray Ban sunglasses. I don't.
But one day I dream to be that girl. Converse. Starbucks. Coca Cola. RayBan. Levi's. That's what I call ART. CULTURE. URBAN CULTURE.

Olivia Bee

This amazing pictures are all by a 16 years old girl, Olivia Bee which I discovered when checking out the Converse official site. Her photos are so beautiful! They express the youth and they bring out its magical charm.

I was amazed by the simple pictures that show more than we see... They show life as it really is, BEAUTIFUL.

Academy Awards

Carey Mulligan is a new-in-town in cinematography, but she already is a star. The incredible role that she made in An Education impressed the critics and the people. She is such a beautiful girl! I really admire her for what she is. The black Prada dress that she wore was simply perfect.

Fingers up for Kristen Stewart! Her dress is really beautiful. I love the colour! It fits with Kristen's face. I'm happy because she wore a more feminine dress. She definitely was a best dressed for the Oscars night!

Ups! Sarah Jessica Parker's Chanel dress was a bit too... golden! It definitly didn't fit her skin tone. I'm wondering why did she chose it, she usually dresses very beautiful.

Kate Winslet, as always, was a stunning presence. Her dress was very beautiful and it fitted her very well. Fingers up!

Diane Kruger is a very beautiful and talented actress. I really admire her. Her Chanel dress was good, but I think she could find a better one, a bit simpler.

Congratulations Sandra Bullock! You really deserved this Oscar! You are such a great actress!

Her speech emotioned me to tears... Everything that she said came from her heart and that's the most important thing! I also liked her dress.

SPRING IS HERE!

YAAAY! Spring is FINNALY here! I feel like I need to change something, that I need a brand new start. And here I am. A brand new girl, dressed in her old clothes, the same apperance, some old thoughts, BUT ALSO SOME NEW DREAMS! I feel like I can do anything. I am new, IT is spring, what else should I say?!
I think it is the time when we should all review ourselves and when we have to make a new start. So, here we are. A new age. The age of SPRING!

ART Fever

I discovered such a cool website called mywebface.com! Look what I've done:

I sent the last 2 ones to fanningworld.com for their birthday book for Dakota.
I think I've got something called ART Fever.
I just edit lots of photos! I want to make birthday cards or invitations... I am still working on the last ones. The idea was that if you (yes, you the one that reads! I am wondering if there is anyone reading this...) would ever want a birthday picture (such as the Dakota ones) with a celebrity or a funny picture (such as the Audrey Hepburn one) e-mail me at : sundayapple13@yahoo.com. IT'S FREE!

Dakota Fanning

This is Dakota Fanning. She's my favourite actress. She's going to be 16 tomorrow, so
HAPPY SWEET SIXTEEN, DAKOTA!
She is a wonderful actress, I saw her in Dreamer first, then in I am Sam, Push, Man on Fire, New Moon and The Secret Life of Bees. The last one is my favouirite. Dakota made such a great role! The book was wonderful too, very captivating. I loved it. Dakota is blossoming in a very beautiful lady and I think she does a great job in growing up on the screen. Her last movie, The Runaways is about a famous girls' rock band from the 80's. She is Cherrie Curie, the lead singer. When I saw the trailer and read more about it, I was thinking: "Is DAKOTA going to play this??!!"!! And yes, she IS. She is growing up, she has adult roles and, as she said, "she showes her rebellion into movies". She is a role model to a lot of young actresses, she showed us what does it mean to grow up on the screen, but not only. She grew in the critics' eyes, and she also grew as a person. I respect her and I really apreciate her for her work.
GO GIRL!

This Sweater

Stella McCartney Resort 2010 collection

Having this blog made me feel more self-confident. I tried to be like a Tavi Gevinson. Of course, I can't. I have to try to be more like myself. I think I can do that. I know it sounds weird, but sometimes it may be harder to be yourself than anybody else.

I feel like I am dependend on something. That I need a think to look after. I hope I'm not the only person that feels in this way. Look at this sweater (yes, it IS NOt a person- who cares?). It depends on the woman that wears it. Without her, people wouldn't admire its true beauty.
But what beauty is? Somebody told me once that you can't be beautiful. You can be nice, pretty but not beautiful.
Being beautiful depends on everybody. You can't be beautiful to all the people. Because we ARE different. And this makes us special.
Maybe we can't be beautiful, but we can be ourselves. And we can be special too! And funny, friendly etc. We can be more than some tiny people, that's for sure!

About customer reviews

I wanted to buy a new phone. My old phone, Samsung SGH D900 which was A VERY GOOD PHONE (I had it for about 4 years!), broke. I was looking for a Sony Ericsson C903 (that I finally bought) and I searched for some customer reviews. It was a website full of bad comments and people that wrote that their phone broke in a couple of minutes or that thier photo camera wasn't working. So, the main review of the phone told us that C903 is not A reliable phone. Well, I sincerly don't think that all the phones break after a few minutes. That review was based on some isolated cases.

So, IF you'll ever consider buyind a Samsung SGH D900, listen to me: This a very good phone with a 3 megapixels photo camera, a mp3 player and a wide screen. And besides that, IT IS RELIABLE. My father had it before me, and he was very satisfied with it. I think this one of the best phones. The camera makes some very beautiful pictures and it is a very slim phone.

I just wanted to tell you all this things because there may be some weird people that might say that this is NOT a good phone. Trust me. It IS a good phone.

Today, I am...

(I want to pretend that I am a different person every day. It sounds really interesting...)

Hi! (Today) I am Melanie and I live in New York. I am a chic girl that loves cycling and simply walking in Central Park in the morning. My favourite movie is Little Manhattan. I love listening to Nirvana or Linkin Park.
Character: joyous, funny, caring
Favourite expression: Right!
Love,
Melanie

Tavi Gevinson

She's 13, she has a blog, a Wikipedia page and she became "a regular guest at fashion shows and a muse for designers in Tokyo"(Wikipedia). Meet Tavi Gevinson.
She describes herself as a "tiny 13 year old dork that sits inside all day wearing awkward jackets and pretty hats". She is writing one of the most succesful blogs in the world, Style Rookie. She was only 11 when she started blogging. Now, she is a star.
She has been to the Fashion Week, she appeared on the cover of POP and LOVE and Kate Mulleavy, from Rodarte says that her new muse helps her see things in a different way.
Still, she is not the most weird kid that you've ever heard of. She likes spending her time with friends watching movies or baking cookies. She loves fashion and she is not a rarity from this point of view, but she loves it in a different way.
'Using fashion as self-expression can go beyond wearing a shirt with a slogan, as clothing has the ability to evoke an entire feel, or atmosphere, or emotion, or world.' (Tavi Gevinson)
I admire Tavi because she knows what she really wants, she is not afraid to be herself and to stand out of the crowd.
Check out her blog at the CHECK THIS OUT! box.

Valentine's Day

It's Valentine's Day today. I am writing my history project and that's it! I am not a very romantic person, but I suppose I'm kindda confused why there is a Valentine's Day and why I just can't celebrate it.
I think this a weird day. Not weird. But nomal. You can say : I LOVE YOU! any day of the year if you want. You can buy some preety roses or a cute teddy bear and give it to the person you love on 5th April, on 24th December etc. So, why Valentine's Day?

New in town

Hello! God! I'm so excited! This IS my first post.
Here I'm going to write about everything and anything, about what I do consider to be interesting.
Enjoy!
And btw, Happy Valentine's Day!
